Volunteers

Volunteer with Us

Our team of volunteers are essential to the daily running of the sanctuary. We rely on them for both walking the dogs and helping the clean the kennels. We have volunteers of all ages from a variety of walks of life, an eclectic group who all have one thing in common: a desire to make a difference. If it’s just a couple of hours in an evening, you want to come at sunrise or anything in between then we’d love to hear from you.

What to Expect

Safe Dogs. Don’t worry, all the dogs you’ll be interacting with have been assessed as safe for volunteers to handle. We’ll also never pressure you into walking a dog you don’t want to. If you feel comfortable on the walk, so will your four legged companion.

Safe Methods. We have run the sanctuary successfully so we know what works and what doesn’t, so you’re in safe hands with us. We will always provide you for the correct information to ensure your safety and have risk assessments in place for adults and young people. We ask that whilst at the sanctuary you follow our safe practices and instructions as this is for both yours and the dog’s wellbeing.

What we expect:

Reliability. Looking after our large number of dogs requires a lot of time and planning. That means we need people that we can count on to help share the workload.

Responsibility. Looking after both the animals and people on site is our top priority so we need volunteers who’ll respect this. This is important for both around the yard and out on walks.

Still not sure? That’s okay. Why not arrange to come for a day and see how you get on. There’s no pressure if you decide not to continue.

Not looking to rehome, you can still make a difference with a donation.
